The Grumpy Monkey by Suzanne Lang and Max Lang

This is a great read to discuss moods! The monkey’s friends talk to him about why he is in such a bad mood on such a great day! Good discussion starter that sometimes it’s okay to feel grumpy….

The Wall in the Middle of the Book by Jon Agee

How intriguing to introduce the concept of perception to little kids? You can also use it with big kids as well as I love to use picture books to teach concepts such as assumptions. The pictures are well done and it’s a page turner for sure!

Let’s Sing a Lullaby with the Brave Cowboy by Jan Thomas

This is a silly book that our kids adore! They love to scream and sing along! Who knows the tune we should use but we have definitely made up our own! We have to read a few books after this one to calm down the sillies before bedtime!!!

Bear Counts by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman

What a great book to practice counting to 5. If you have a little kid and do not own this book yet- it is a MUST! You can practice rhyming words as well as you follow along on this charming day with Bear.

What was That! By Geda Bradley

We LOVE this charming tale of the bear brothers. Great illustrations and storyline to understand the noises we ALL hear at night time. We tend to bring up the little story lines a lot as we are preparing for bedtime- like- “Oh that noise was probably just a little bug brushing his teeth!”

A super enjoyable bedtime read!

Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site by Sherri Duskey Rinker and Tom Lichtenheld

A great read with lots of rhyming word practice! Our kids love pointing out familiar trucks and construction site materials. We love to give as a gift with a tractor toy!

Shark vs Train by Chris Barton and Tom Lichtenheld

We also love to give this book as a gift as well with a little shark and train toy. It is a funny twist on two little boys playing and making dares.
